教学过程
(I) Lead-in (5 minutes)
1. Play a "Happy Birthday" song to create a relaxed and pleasant classroom
atmosphere.
2. Show some pictures of birthday parties and ask students, "What are the
people doing in the photo?" Guide students to answer, "They are having a birthday
party."
3. Then ask, "Whose birthday is it?" Let students guess freely, thus leading to
the topic of this lesson birthdays.
(II) Presentation (5 minutes)
1. Show the word cards of the 12 months and teach students to read them one
by one. Pay attention to correcting pronunciation. Methods such as leading reading,
chorus reading and individual reading can be adopted.
2. Explain the ordinal number expressions from 1st to 31st, emphasizing the
formation rules of ordinal numbers, such as: first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth,
seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth,
sixteenth, seventeenth, eighteenth, nineteenth, twentieth, twenty-first, twenty-
second, twenty-third, twenty-fourth, twenty-fifth, twenty-sixth, twenty-seventh,
twenty-eighth, twenty-ninth, thirtieth, thirty-first.
3. Show some dates and ask students to say them in English, such as "March
5th" and "June 12th", to consolidate the usage of months and ordinal numbers.
(III) Listening practice (10 minutes)
1. Play the recording of 1a. Let students listen and repeat, and then circle the
month and date of their birthdays.
2. Play the recording of 1b. Let students listen to the conversations and match
the people with their birthdays. After checking the answers, play the recording again
and let students follow and imitate the pronunciation and intonation.
